How can I pay any school fees (textbook, lunch money, etc.)?

You can utilize School Pay to pay for textbook rentals and to fund lunch accounts. Information about School Pay as well as additional lunch details, such as the monthly menu, can be found on the Food Services: Food Service

Can I volunteer in the classroom or visit for lunch?

**UPDATE** - Visitors and volunteers are suspended at this time.  Please see the Eagle Start Guide for details: Eagle Start Guide

We value partnerships with our families and welcome parents and guardians to serve as volunteers in our schools. During the school day, all volunteers are expected to check in at the front office. Prior to the volunteer opportunity, all volunteers must sign a Non-disclosure Acknowledgement Form and have successfully completed a Full Criminal History Background Check. Necessary background check paperwork is available on the ZCS website at the Volunteers/BRAVO link and should be submitted at least 10 days prior to the intended volunteer date. Volunteers must also view the state mandated confidentiality/bullying video, provided on the Volunteer/BRAVO website. The volunteer will pay the fee* for the full background check which will expire after 5 years.

During the school day, all visitors must enter via the front door and sign-in at the front office. Visitors need to be prepared to present a government issued photo ID which will be scanned against the National Sex Offender Registry. All visitors will be issued a visitor badge/tag to be worn inside the building at all times. Visitors other than parents/guardians must be prearranged and organized through the main office.

Are there other ways to become involved at Union?

We have 2 parent organizations at Union. If you are a Union parent, then you are a member!

  • The Union Elementary Dads Club has been around since the 1990s, and is represented by the “greatest group of guys” in Zionsville. We plan a number of fun, extra-curricular activities for Union’s kids throughout the year, as well as work with the teachers and PTO to improve educational resources. Basically, we’re all about the kids and having fun. Our motto: is “Be Glad You’re A Dad!” Dads meet in the Teachers’ Lounge the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM. Please contact Erin Kay, Principal for more information.
  • The Union Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) promotes parents’ interests and involvement in school activities. They do so through raising funds to be used to assist Union in meeting the objective of providing the best possible education for the school children and by promoting and facilitating the education of Union students through enrichment programs and activities. The PTO meets monthly and offers a variety of ways to get involved. Please see the letter from our PTO president or check out their website: PTO Website Please contact Erin Kay, Principal for more information.

Be sure to check your emails weekly for this communication.
